Session

In his "Field Guide to the Irish Music Session," Barry Foy defines a session as:

...a gathering of Irish traditional musicians for the purpose of celebrating their common interest in the music by playing it together in a relaxed, informal setting, while in the process generally beefing up the mystical cultural mantra that hums along uninterruptedly beneath all manifestations of Irishness worldwide.

We will be celebrating our Irishness with a session at the conclusion of classes on Thursday evening.  Please join us for a bit of "craic" as we celebrate another successful Dayton Irish Arts Institute.  The session will be held Thursday evening from 8:30 to 11:00 PM on the Campus of the University of Dayton.  Our featured hoists will be Laura Cortese and Matt and Shannon Heaton.  It is open to the public and all are welcome to attend regardless of whether you attended the Institute.  Come and listen or come and play.
